The Supreme Court has cleared the way for starting the NEET counseling process by upholding the Centre’s decision to provide 10 per cent reservation for EWS to 27 per cent for OBCs in NEET UG and PG. Now Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released a notice regarding National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG, PG Counseling 2021. In the notice issued by the MCC, the students have been informed about the Supreme Court’s decision and also assured that the counseling schedule will be released soon on the official website mcc.nic.in.
NEET counseling is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). For counselling, candidates have to register at mcc.nic.in. At least 6,102 medical colleges and 649 hospitals are expected to participate in NEET PG counseling 2021. As of today, around 9,953 seats in MD, 10,821 seats in Master of Surgery (MS), 1,979 seats in PG Diploma and 1,338 DNB CETs are lying vacant in medical colleges which will be filled by students who have qualified for NEET PG 2021 exam. The reservation in seats for All India quota for admission in UG and PG medical seats will be as follows:
SC: 15 percent
ST: 7.5 percent
PWD – Horizontal reservation as per MCC norms: 5 percent
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) as per central OBC list: 27 percent
EWS (as per central government norms): 10 percent
